For some domains, there are requirements that a WHOIS contact email be confirmed; or that information sharing consent be given or withheld. These systems are not controlled or hosted by Lower Ground, but are a required bit of domain ownership. The ICANN-required email confirmations are particularly important, if not completed your domain will be suspended by the upstream registrar.
